Angel (now Xena) an adorable and irresistable little female staffy approximately 2 years old. She is soft and quiet and just loves being allowed to sit with you indoors and be patted. Angel went to her new home on 3 August. "Just a quick note to let you know (Angel) Xena is going very well and is still as beautiful as ever. She has come out of her shell around the house and now is approaching people and even children at her leisure. She has so many admirers wherever we go, someone always comments on how much of a good-looking dog she is. Xena is still fussy with her food so we have a weekly order with our local butcher who provides pet mince to her liking. Xena is approx. 17 kilo's and her coat is still silky smooth and shiny. At the end of the month she will be due for her annual injection. Xena's overall health is very good. She loves her daily walks and is excellent off the lead. She enjoys rolling around in the grass and running. She has come such a long way I have thoroughly enjoyed watching or grow and glow."
Abraham is a male Mastiff cross around 2 years old. He has an extremely loving and gentle nature and is good with all other animals, including small dogs, puppies and cats. Abe was adopted by his foster carer on 10 August.

Rocket is a handsome Jack Russell X approximately 2 years old. He is extremely friendly and very lovable. Rocky loves people and is great with children and other dogs. He is especially bright and has responded well to basic training. Rocket went to live with his new family on 10 August.
Dizzy went to live with her new mum on 17 August. "I had to learn to go through the doggy door and am now quite good at it, even if I do say so myself! I am allowed to sleep with Sue on her bed and she covers me with my *own* blanket but only when I have had enough tummy tickles. I usually rest my head on Sue's neck, head, or claim a pillow. I snuggle up so close, Sue feels I am trying to get inside her skin. Sue says I have a lizard tongue and calls me Dizzy Lizzy Lump of Lard! Everyone says I can stay, so I think I will do just that! Thank you rescue team"

Amelie was adopted by a great new family on 19 August."Amy has settled in extremely well. She had a full day at the football on Saturday but we also managed a couple of hours when we left her alone at home. She was very excited to see us when we got home. Her toilet training is going exceptionally well. Amy had her first visit with our friends and their dogs yesterday. They had the best time chasing each other around the yard. She is a lovely dog with such a great personality. We are very lucky!"
Leroy was abused in his former home and dumped at the pound. He is slowly making great progress with his new carers who adopted him in September.

ned_.jpg - 24397 Bytes
Ned is a desexed male Rotti x Kelpie who was rehomed on 5 October. "Our family is complete again. We wanted a large dog who would bond with our daughter and be protective of her whilst she was out riding on her horse. Ned has fitted the bill perfectly. He loves to be with people and preferably outside enjoying fresh air and exercise. We all walk to school in the morning and then Ned and I continue on for a couple more kilometres, before returning to my home office where he spends the day happily lazing around until 3pm and then on to the horse paddocks. Ned will start obedience training in earnest next week to ensure that he is an excellent doggie citizen. Our family looks forward to many years with Ned and will always be grateful to Sarah for permitting us to adopt him."
Roy is an eleven-month old desexed male whippet, brindle and white with a black muzzle. He is a very handsome boy who is gentle and very affectionate. Roy will go to his new home with another whippet for company in November.

Larry (now Oscar) is a an eight-year old Maltese who was adopted on 20 October."I live in a house with another dog called Lily who is pretty nice for a girl dog, and three cats. Cats are cats, and these three have given me some hard times I can tell you. However they are now firmly under control and believe me they know who is the boss. (Lily lets me pretend to be the boss now and again just to confuse them.) I have short hair and a really blokey studded collar with a red lead, which does wonders for my image. I get lots of walks around the neighbourhood and sometimes we go to the lake and I run and run. I am looking forward to summer when I can paddle and play on the sand. The food is pretty good - lots of it, and I even let the cats share my bowl if they insist. I get to sleep on the bed, and if it is cold I get under the doona! Absolute heaven. I am happy happy happy."
Scotty is a very energetic and playful 2-year-old smooth collie with a gorgeous temperament. Scottie went to his new home on 27 October 2002. Update: Scottie and his mum have just moved to a new house with a huge backyard, and go to regular obedience training. "His new doggiemate is Spencer a 5yo border collie. Scottie's new yard is huge with lots of grass. His main challenge at the moment is learning the difference between lawn and garden! Scottie's doing great he's learning new commands, at the moment we are practicing the sit, drop, stay, wait, spin - and have just started the heel. I think we are at level 2 really but we will stay in level 1 until he settles around the other dogs (gets a little excited on Sundays). Hoping to join the flyball or agility class in March."
