Name: Sophie Sex: Female Age (approx): 10 months Breed (approx): Irish wolfhound x mastiff Description: "Sophie is a beautiful gentle girl with a happy and affectionate personality. She is great with her new buddy Natasha (also adopted from ARF) and lovely with small children. Sophie is quiet, clean and well mannered and she is a bit of a softie so gets gentle treatment. "I moved in with Natasha the week after the Canberra Fires, and she is great friend - keeps my face clean and shares her toys. We are adored by our new people, who are pretty cool, and tell us we are the best. Life is pretty good!" Rehomed: 3 January 2003 |
Name: Harley Sex: Male Age (approx): 10 months Breed (approx): Hound x Description: Harley has had a bit of a rough start and is soft and sometimes a little timid, so needs lots of love and kindness, which he gives back twice in return. "He is happy playing with Buffy and following me round the house. He sits and watches TV with Buffy and me on the lounge and wrestles with Buffy and is now wagging his tail and grinning every morning when we go for walks. He joins Buffy in chasing the purple squeaky bone and the rubber ring of an afternoon in the backyard, he gets on much better with the cat Misty than Buffy does, he is settling in slowly but surely and I am sure he will be fine." Name: Boris (now Calvin) Sex: Male Age (approx): 4 years Breed (approx): X breed Description: "Calvin is being a very good boy. He's more active than Jolene is, but we've been keeping him pretty well worn out. This morning he climbed Mt. Majura and was more than happy to do some snoozing upon returning. He plays quite nicely with Jolene and is happy to respect the house rules that she has set. We are all enjoying him immensely and I think he is quite happy to be here." Rehomed: 23 January 2003 |

Name: Rex Sex: Male Age (approx): 3 years Breed: Kelpie Description: Rex is a smart and happy dog who has a very special place in the hearts of all ARF members and particularly his former foster carer, Ada, who has now adopted him. Rex has had a number of health problems since he was first found hit by a car last year, and we are all very pleased that Rex found his own very special, loving and caring home with Ada. Name: Toffee Sex: Female Age (approx): 12 weeks Breed:Staffy x greyhound Description: Toffee is a very friendly and outgoing girl with a lovely soft short coat and is full of play and fun. She already loves balls and toys! Toffee gets on well with other dogs, and is a very smart little girl for such a young one! Toffee has gone to her new home with her new friend Jasper. Name: Dylan Sex: Male Age (approx): 6 years Breed (approx): Cairn Terrier Description: Dylan (now nicknamed 'Wombat') is a funny little chap with lots of character. He is great with people and other dogs, and some of the cats he has met. Dylan has gone to a home with two other dogs and two teenagers for company and where he will get lots of walks and spend a lot of time with his family. Rehomed: 16 February 2003 |
Name: Amber Sex: Female Age (approx): 10 years Breed (approx): Border Collie x Description: Amber was in the pound for 4 weeks and desperately in need of someone to love her and give her a stable home. Amber now has a lovely mum and lots of 'aunts' and 'uncles' to give her even more cuddles and walks. Amber has graduated from her intermediate obedience class, and starts her advanced class soon. Amber receives a lot of compliments at training on her looks, temperament and her good manners - and she takes it all as her due. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Amber also attends her mum's French class every week where certificates have just been handed out and Amber received one for "regular attendance and being quiet, well behaved and polite and friendly to other members of the class". Name: Simba Sex: Male Age (approx): date of birth 31/01/02 Breed (approx): Terrier x Description: "Simba is fitting in really well and we've both totally fallen for him. He's so sweet and affectionate - a very endearing dog. He and Sam settled in quickly and are starting to play. He's been a bit timid but he's gotten a bit more confident each day. He's also been a big hit with all the women that have come over on the weekend - definitely a ladies man!" Rehomed: 18 March 2003 |
