Rehomed Dogs

The following ARF dogs were rehomed between October to December 2003:

jack
blossom

  Name: Jack
Sex: Male
Age (approx): 2 years
Breed: Labrador x
Description: Gentleman Jack is a big softie who is happy to be friends with every dog, cat or person he meets. He is calm and kind with children and young puppies and has great patience when he is being chewed, prodded or cuddled enthusiastically by the very young. Jack seems to be made up of several breeds. He is most like a labrador with his laid-back temperament and his size, but his glossy coat is shorter than a lab's, and doesnt shed much. His big pointed ears are very expressive. A polite and placid dog, Jack almost never barks, and enjoys just lying around the house, or resting his head in your lap and gazing lovingly up at you. He is a kind and affectionate dog, and emotionally confident.

Gemma is a quiet, gentle and affectionate little dog who loves the company of other dogs, adores children and doesn't mind cats. She is playful, and loves to lie in your lap for a pat and a cuddle. She is a delightful and pretty little girl.

Name: Roxy
Sex: Female
Age (approx): 6 years
Breed: Kelpie x Red Heeler
Description: Roxy has her paws full being a companion to a very active dog, but they keep each other occupied and happy. Her new mum says Roxy is a very smart dog and she has learned lots of new things including how to be polite and shake hands before being allowed on the couch for a cuddle. rusty

  Name: Reuben
Sex: Male
Age (approx): 2 years
Breed: Kelpie
Description: Friendly and strikingly handsome, Reuben is submissive and respectful to people, but he is not timid or shy. Though kelpies are often highly energetic dogs, Reuben seems to have his energy well under control and while he still needs regular exersise, he is calm and courteous around the home, and he is not the sort of dog to bark, misbehave or become stressed if left alone. We think Reuben has been a farm dog in the past and life as a house-pet is new (and very welcome!) to him. He is extemely obedient and intelligent so adapts to such new situations with ease. Reuben is affectionate, sweet-natured, gentle and kind and he just adores being part of a human family. He loves children, and behaves himself around cats and other small animals. Reuben gets on well with dogs though he is not really a 'rough and tumble' dog himself.
Listed: 25 October 2003
Rehomed: 2 November 2003
Name: Rusty
Sex: Male
Age (approx): 7 years
Breed: Cattle Dog/Staffy X
Description: Rusty was a very sweet boy who was good with kids, cats and dogs and loved to follow you around and lay at your feet or close by. Sadly, Rusty developed a very severe and aggressive degenerative arthritis (not the 'old age' type). He would have continued to deteriorate and be in considerable pain, so it was with great sadness that Rusty was gently put to sleep by one of our vets. Rest in peace, dear Rusty.

gus
_snuggles

  Name: Gus
Sex: Male
Age (approx): 10 months
Breed: Rottweiler x ridgeback
Description: This stunning golden dog looks quite magnificent but inside he is just a big smoochy puppy who likes nothing better than snuggling up for a cuddle. Gus has a pup's curiosity and friendliness, and he is basically calm, gentle and very well behaved around the house. He was dumped in the pound and spent many lonely weeks there before being rescued, but he has a resiliant character and remains a happy, loving and trusting boy.

Rehomed: 8 November 2003

Name: Snuggles
Sex: Female
Age (approx): 18 mths
Breed: Chihuahua x
Description: Snuggles is a gorgeous little princess who could melt any heart. She is a tiny madam who loves to be cuddled and kissed. But she's not entirely delicate - she is quite a cheeky girl who likes playing with people and other dogs. She is good with kids, but not suitable for very young or boisterous children as she could be hurt quite easily.

Name: Boots
Sex: Male
Age (approx): 1 year
Breed: Mastiff x staffy
Description: It is with deep sadness that we advise Boots has been humanely euthanased by one of our vets. Boots was a remarkable and handsome dog, who we adored. Unfortunately, he had a number of deep-rooted behavioural problems that we weren't able to resolve and which led us to decide we couldn't responsibly rehome him for reasons of risk. This was an extremely sad and difficult decision. We miss you and love you Boots.

daniel

  Name: Daniel
Sex: Male
Age (approx): 2 years
Breed: Cross breed
Description: Handsome and gentle, Daniel is a very quiet dog who is relaxed, friendly and easy to have around. Daniel is a real gentleman, an easy-going companion and an all-round nice dog. "On Saturday we brought Daniel home (from foster care with ARF) he's just lovely and he and Brandy have been enjoying each others company. They are currently fast asleep on seperate couches... I think if they didnt spend the night using the hallways as a racetrack they wouldnt be so tired in the day. It reminds me of a teenage slumber party. We found our Mr Right!"
