| Sweet girl: DeeDee Sex: Female Age (approx): 6 years Breed: Miniature Pinscher Size: Small (3-4kgs) Description: DeeDee has had a tough time of late: her beloved owner died a few months ago and she was sent to the pound. She is a sweet and soft little dog who is toilet trained, and a little bit taller than a chihuahua, with an easy-care short coat. Deedee is generally quiet but very alert and will bark if something alarms her - so will make a fine little watch dog. She loves going for walks and is quite happy to sit by your side and do whatever you are doing. Although DeeDee is used to being the only pet in the house she would love a play mate, male or female about her size, but would be better in a home without cats. DeeDee really is a gorgeous girl. She would be best suited to a home where she could be the adoring and adored companion to an older person or at least somewhere without much noise or activity. Deedee isn't a demanding dog, she doesn't need much more than some gentleness and stability in her life and will repay whoever provides it with her undying devotion. Listed: 12 June 2004 Rehomed: 7 July 2004 | Cuddly and Adorable: Milly Sex: Female Age (approx): 1 year Breed: Shih Tzu Size: Small Description: Milly is an absolutely gorgeous little girl with a temperament to match. Milly also loves to play with her toys and loves nothing better than a game of tug. Milly is Milo's Mum. Listed: 24 April 2004 Rehomed: 16 July 2004 | ||

| Placid and cuddly: Phoebe Sex: Female Age (approx): 7 months Breed: Dalmatian x Size: Medium large Description: A gentle and friendly puppy, Phoebe loves people, dogs, cats - she is good with small children as she enjoys just pottering around with them and isn't intrusive or rough. With dogs, she enjoys a boisterous romp, though she knows to treat small, old and grumpy dogs with respect. Phoebe has a beautiful temperament, she is a very cuddly, loving and affectionate girl, a real smoocher who loves lying back in your arms like an oversized baby. She is placid and relaxed, and emotionally well-adjusted. Phoebe is well behaved for a yougster, she doesn't seem to have any bad habits and is already toilet-trained. She has nice indoor manners and sufficient training already for her to be a lovely house pet. Should someone wish to take Phoebe's training further though, she will do well as she is alert and cooperative. Phoebe was born deaf and has been taught to respond to hand signals for basic commands. | Soft and loving: Riley Sex: Female Age (approx): 5 months Breed: Crossbreed Size: Medium Description: Riley is a very sweet young girl and though only just a pup, is very gentle. She has a kind disposition and loves a cuddle. When she is resting she likes to be close enough to feel your touch and often lays with her head against your foot. Riley is submissive and gets on well with other dogs. At this early stage in her life she is looking for a family that would be keen to take her to dog training to help her mature into a well-behaved adult, she has already learnt to sit and is keen to learn more. She is reasonably active so would love a family that go out for regular walks, would include her in their activities and preferably have another dog for company. Riley is one gorgeous girl!! Listed: 18 June 2004 Rehomed: 16 July 2004 | Cuddly and Adorable: Milo Sex: Male Age (approx): 10 weeks (at 13 July) Breed: Shih Tzu x Size: Small Description:Milo is an adorable little Shih Tzu crossed possibly with a Jack Russell Terrier. His coat has a bit of scruffy look to it, although it will grow to be reasonably long. Milo gets on well with other dogs and cats, but humans are the love of his life, especially gentle children. He is very excited to see you when you come home or after he wakes up, and loves a cuddle and a game. Milo will need a home where he will get a lot of attention and preferably a doggy companion. He will also need to attend dog training to continue his socialisation and obedience. Picture updated in July 2005 to showwhat a gorgeous boy young Milo is becoming. | Friendly and funny: Spike Sex: Male Age (approx): 2-3 years Breed: Terrier x Size: Small (5 kgs) Description: If you've always wanted a scruffy family dog, then Spike could be the man for you. A loveable and friendly fellow, Spike is bound to fit in to a wide range of family situations. Spike is playful, friendly, and loves a tummy rub and cuddle. He likes all toys and games and activities with his family. His harsh coat is easy to care for and he enjoys being brushed. Spike is confident enough to be an only dog, however, would prefer another dog to play with. Spike doesn't carry any 'baggage' from his past, but he is looking forward to his future. Listed: 8 June 2004 Rehomed: 19 July 2004 | Name: Arthur Sex: Male Age (approx): 16 weeks Breed: English Pointer x Size: Large Description: A relaxed and happy puppy who is always keen to be involved in whatevers going on, Arthur is very friendly and relatively confident. Though Arthur is demonstrating the beginnings of a calm and easy-going temperament, prospective adopters should note that pointers are an active breed requiring regular exersise, and a committment to training. For the person willing to put the effort in, a pointer is a wonderful family pet or companion, with a gentle, intelligent temperament and a graceful athletitic appearance. Arthur is already well socialised with dogs. Listed: 3 July 2004 Rehomed: 20 July 2004 | ||

| Keen to please: Mitch Sex: Male Age (approx): 5-6 months Breed: Mastiff or Great Dane X (with something smaller) Size: Medium/large (currently 24 kg and rising) Description: Mitch is a happy and friendly boy who is very keen for you to love him. He seems quick, and most importantly, very willing to learn. He is friendly with other dogs, though maybe a little boisterous for some. We haven't had the opportunity to test him out with children yet but he doesn't seem to be phased by much, so should be fine for a family. As he is still only a young boy he has some growing to do but is unlikely to become a really big dog. Nevertheless he will need regular walks and attention, maybe even a friend to play with, as he is quite energetic. Listed: 18 June 2004 Rehomed: 27 July 2004 | Quiet and friendly: Romeo Sex: Male Age (approx): 12 months Breed: Jack Russell Terrier Size: Small Description: Let Romeo steal your heart as he looks up at you with those big brown eyes then rolls over for a belly rub. Quiet for his age, Romeo just wants to love and be loved. He loves car rides, going for walks and belly rubs. He's house trained and would benefit from training to help him fit into a family. Romeo responds very well to food-based reward training and lots of praise. As Romeo is timid and fairly submissive, rough and tumble small children may be too much for him, as would a very dominant other dog. | Happy Soul: Maggie Sex: Female Age (approx): 3 years Breed: Rottweiler x Kelpie Size: Large (35kg) Description: Maggie is a delightful girl who will make a wonderful pet. A cuddly, friendly, clever, soft hearted bear of a dog, Maggie is a little more finely built that a pure-bred Rottweiler, but otherwise, in looks and temperament, she is all rotti. She has plenty of energy and certainly loves her walks. In fact she likes going just about anywhere, always keen for an outing in the car, and with an intellient, inquisitive nature. She’s well trained and generally obedient, sticking close to her special person whenever she can. She is friendly to everyone, but devotes herself most deeply to one person. Maggie is house trained and has nice manners, though if you sit still you risk a big nose presenting itself in your lap for a pat. She’s a dog for someone with plenty of time to spend with her, as she would not be happy left alone all day every day, and will need regular exersise. Maggie mixes and plays well with other dogs and would enjoy living with a doggy playmate though this is not essential. A strikingly attractive dog with a heart of gold, Maggie will make a loyal companion and an endearing pet. Listed: 18 May 2004 Rehomed: 28 July 2004 | Family dog: Verushka Sex: Female Age (approx): 3 years Breed: Crossbreed Size: Medium (12 kg) Description: Verushka has a soft wire coat and is friendly and gentle. She is great with small children and while she gets on well with dogs (though she doesnt like boisterous play), her greatest love is people and she would be perfectly happy in a one-dog household. She is a devoted and loyal dog, and very affectionate without being 'needy'. Verushka has lovely indoor manners, is toliet trained and quiet. She has shown herself to be a quick learner of basic commands and she is cooperative and obedient - she's a pleasure to have around. Verushka is an easy-going and undemanding dog who just 'fits in'. She enjoys a daily walk or off-lead run (coming back when called) and just lying around the house. Verushka is a low-maintenance sort of dog who will make a great addition to a family. Typical of working dog breeds, Emily is a delight to train as she is intelligent and very keen to please, so catches on quickly. A reasonably active dog, Emily will require regular exersise, and she enjoys chasing a ball. Emily is calm, submissive, gentle and quiet, and behaves well around small children and other dogs. With her beautiful temperament and her striking good looks, Emily is a real darling. Now up you get and let's go walking. Maybe even running, we'll see how you go. Now we'll work those arms. Throw that ball! And again! And again and again and again... I'm a young bundle of energy, loving people and children, but I'm a bit shy with other dogs. I need training and exercise and my foster carer thinks I would be great at flyball or agility. I'm very friendly and love to cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie with you. Photo kindly taken by All Creatures Photography Listed: 8 July 2004 Rehomed: 29 August 2004 | ||

| Friendly and intelligent: Monty Sex: Male Age (approx): 2 years Breed: Labrador x Size: Medium/large Description: Monty is a happy and friendly dog who makes friends wherever he goes - everyone likes Monty. In appearance he is very much like a Labrador, except that his coat is a handsome dark brindle colour. Monty has a gorgeous temperament: laid-back, friendly, and intelligent. Always wagging and smiling, easy-going Monty loves people, and is an affectionate, cuddly sort of dog. He is very well socialised and gets on well with dogs, enjoying a good play, though he retreats from any aggression. Monty has moderate exercise needs and is highly trainable. He has already received some obedience training and is naturally cooperative with nice manners. He travels well in the car and will happily sleep in a crate. Monty would love to be adopted by someone who will exercise him regularly, give him some more training, and treat him as part of the family. Listed: 18 May 2004 Rehomed: 14 August 2004 | Placid and gentle: Possum Sex: Female Age (approx): 5 years Breed: Labrador x Rottweiler Size: Medium/large Description: A placid and affectionate girl who gets on well with all sorts of dogs, Possum is gentle around small children and friendly to everyone. She is generally undemanding and is happy to park herself at your feet wherever you are. Possum loves a good walk and is a delight to exercise off-lead as she stays close and comes when called. She is very loving and devotes herself most loyally to one special person, who she then sticks to like Velcro. Possum is a real 'people dog', and is an ideal indoor dog, being quiet and sensible, with beautiful manners. She loves lying around on the couch or just hanging out with you in the garden. She will make a great pet for a family or individual who wants the benefits and convenience of a mature and settled dog who is still young enough to enjoy her exercise. | Heart of gold: George Sex: Male Age (approx): 17 months Breed: Irish Wolfhound x Great Dane x Mastiff x Size: Large (45 Kgs) Description: Faultless is really the only way to describe big George; he's good with kids, cats, people and dogs. He's very friendly and loyal; he has a curious and intelligent mind and loves being involved in whatever is going on around the house, without ever being 'over the top'. He is still a young dog and needs exercise and socialisation as he matures. He loves to play big puppy games with dogs as well as people. Gentle George is a very easygoing likeable character, who would fit into a variety of circumstances and be a valuable and loving member of the family. He is simply a great big and absolutely beautiful dog. Listed: 16 August 2004 Rehomed: 26 August 2004 | Warm and cuddly: Inki Sex: Male Age (approx): 8 years Breed: Chihuahua x Size: Small (4 kgs) Description: Description: Inki is a real 'cuddle wart'. He absolutely adores human contact, especially men, and will follow his special person around the house, climbing up to keep their lap warm every time they sit down. Inki is a mature Chihuahua and is well behaved, toilet trained etc, but he is still young in spirit (and in health) and enjoys playing with other dogs. A wonderful couple and their dog Snitch have adopted Inki and they all just love him. He has a big back yard to just mosey around at his leisure, but most of all he now has a stable home and his former owner can RIP knowing that Inki is now safe and extremely happy in his forever home. She is very loyal, easy to walk on lead and will bond strongly with her new human companion. Whilst she is very active she does know when it's time to settle down and has picked up the routine at her foster carer's home very quickly. She has a keen mind and her loyal tendencies will mean that she could do very well in obedience training as well as just being well behaved around the house Listed: 25 August 2004 Rehomed: 28 August 2004 | Friendly, active, gentle: Ernie Sex: Male Age (approx): 1 year Breed: Kelpie crossbreed Size: Medium Description:Ernie is a gentle, sweet natured and happy guy who is friendly to everyone. He gets on well with most dogs, being playful and submissive, is extremely good with my two small children and generally ignores cats. He's clearly a highly intelligent dog and responds well to reward-based training. Despite being not much more than a pup, Ernie is sensible and obedient, toilet trained and has lovely indoor manners, being quiet and calm when inside. Outside he is active and energetic when you want to play a game or go for a walk, he likes to swim and he and plays 'fetch' with gusto. But he is also content to quietly chew on a stick while you garden nearby. Ernie is an affectionate dog but he is not the sort to pester you for attention and he treats all people with respect. He would be unhappy left alone all day in the yard, though would be fine with a doggy companion. He would make a fantastic playmate for another lonely or bored dog. Ernie is an all-round nice boy who will make a loyal and loving pet Listed: 18 August 2004 Rehomed: 28 August 2004 | ||
