| Adorably Sweet: Maggie Sex: Female Age (approx): 10 weeks Breed: Dachshund X Cattle Dog Size: Small to Medium Description: Maggie is just so cute! She looks the most Dachshund out of the puppies and is an eye-catching colour. A sweet and friendly nature, Maggie will make a lovely companion. Maggie too is very good at her sitting and is one of those puppies you just want to pick up and hug. Maggie seems to have taken her rough start in her stride however, she, like all puppies, will need guidance via puppy school for socialisation and obedience skills, and will also need toilet training, etc. Rescued: 17 February 2005 Adopted: 1 March 2005
| Clever and submissive: Louie Sex: Male Age: 7 months Breed: crossbreed Size: Medium Description: This lovely pup is a gentle, friendly, snuggly boy who loves a pat and a tummy rub. He's also very smart and keen to please. Louie has normal puppy energy levels, but appears set to mature into a very calm and sensible dog. Even at his current young age, Louie is a well behaved dog who, after letting off a bit of steam, is happy to settle right down. He loves to lie quietly at someone's feet when inside the house. Louie will benefit from some obedience training as he matures, and has a great attitude and ability for learning, responding correctly to new commands in a very short time. Louie loves people and he also is very friendly and submissive to other dogs. He is a bit scared of his foster carer's cat at present but plays happily with his doggy playmate. Louie is hoping to be adopted into a home with plenty of dog or human company, or where, if he was to be on his own during the day, he received a walk morning and evening. Louie would also like to be allowed inside and included in his family's general activities when they are home. Louie is an adaptable dog who would be a suitable pet for children. Rescued: 22 February 2005 Adopted: 5 March 2005

| Sooky Boofhead: Sampson Sex: Male Age: (approx) 18 months Breed: Rottweiler X Size: Large Description: Sampson is magnificent and handsome big boy, but for his size is very gentle and placid. Although he is strong dog, he tends not to "throw his weight around" and behaves appropriately with small dogs and children. Sampson is a smart boy and tries very hard to do the right thing. He has a lovely sweet nature and is a smoochy sook who loves cuddles. Sampson is house-trained, has nice manners and gets on well with other dogs. He is well behaved in the car, in the house and on his walks. Sampson is still just a youngster so will benefit from a bit more training as he matures. He also needs (and enjoys) regular exercise. He enjoys the company of other dogs and playing gentle wrestling games with them. Sampson would suit a home where he would get plenty of loving attention and inclusion in his people's activities. His new owner will be rewarded with a magnificent loyal and loving companion. Rescued: 4 February 2005 Adopted: 5 March 2005
| The Wriggler: Frankie Sex: Male Age: (approx) 4 years Breed: Longhaired Chihuahua Size: Small Description: Hi, my name is Frankie and aren’t I just adorable? I came in to care a very shy little boy but am now getting to know my carer and her “pack” and find them all a pretty happy and contented bunch, although the canine lot are much older than me and aren’t interested in playing, but I don’t mind cause I can have a rest till I go to my forever home.I am a clean little man but am having trouble mastering this mesh looking door that my foster mum keeps putting me through regularly, not quite sure why, although she says this little “good boy” thing every time I do anything outside, so maybe in time I will get the hang of it, I’m sure I will. I am not into exercise, as Chihuahuas are not known for walking much and especially not out on the street, as you never know what’s around the corner, I would rather be picked up and cuddled. My ideal forever home comes with conditions, I must have a playmate about the same size as me, male or female is OK; no children under 5-6 as they will want to pick me up all the time and sometimes they might drop me.I don’t mind sleeping on my own in my own bed, I love sleeping beside my carer while watching TV so I can be patted.Generally, I want to be loved, fed and cared for and live happily ever after. I am sure my new family is out there somewhere but they just have to find out that I am here waiting for them to come and take me home. Rescued: 13 February 2005 Adopted: 6 March 2005

| Mr Cuddles: Harry Sex: Male Age : 2 years Breed: Maltese x Poodle Size: Small Description: Harry is affectionately known as Mr Cuddles. From the time he arrived at my home he immediately fitted in well with my other three little dogs who adore him. He joins in with all the comings and goings of family and doggy life. Harry is a very happy and friendly little man who definitely loves to be cuddled. He has had some training and knows the command for “sit”. Rescued: 2 March 2005 Adopted: 6 March 2005
| Happy and Affectionate: Jed Sex: Male Age (approx): 19 months Breed: Old English Sheepdog X Size: Large Description: Jed is a gorgeous, enthusiastic and unique looking fellow with his dark grey scruffy coat that is soft to touch and dancing big brown eyes that look at you expectantly, hoping for a pat or a walk. Jed is a social boy who enjoys the company of both humans and his doggy friends and fits easily into these situations. He is also “sharing digs” with a cat. Jed has lots of personality and shows himself to be very intelligent and responsive and is so very keen to please. Jed has basic training and can sit, drop, comes when called etc, though would be best suited to a home that would build on his skills – he would be very rewarding with his willingness to learn. He is active, so his new family would ideally be able to provide him plenty of exercise and lots of attention and preferably would have a pal that Jed could share his days with for company. Although Jed is super friendly, he would be best suited to a home with older children as he may accidentally knock the littlies over. If you are looking for a unique scruff-muffin who is a bit goofy but would be your best pal ever – Jed might be just right for you.. Rescued: 15 February 2005 Adopted: 6 March 2005

| Loyal & Responsive: Toby Sex: Male Age (approx): 22 months Breed: Border Collie X Labrador Size: Medium Description: Toby is looking for a home through no fault of his own. His owner has surrendered him as she is sick and can't take care of him. Toby is a good-looking boy shiny black and beautiful warm brown eyes that look at you lovingly. He is a great dog with a very friendly, gentle and well mannered temperament. Toby is obedient; he sits and comes every time he is called. He is very eager to please and smart! Toby learnt the command "outside" in just one go! Toby is cat friendly and is learning to live with the chooks and ducks at his foster carer's place. He travels well. He does not jump up and enjoys games and the company of other dogs or people. Toby would be benefit from his new family giving him some obedience training and exercise everyday. Rescued: 22 February 2005 Adopted: 6 March 2005
| Gorgeous: Maggie Sex: Female Age: approx 3.5 years Breed: Golden Retriever Size: Large Description: Maggie is a delight. She is a beautiful dog with pedigree papers and a gentle and affectionate nature. Her golden coat is thick, long and luxurious. Maggie loves a cuddle and is very people-focused. She gets on well with other dogs and is also good with cats. Maggie has good manners, she doesn’t jump up or snatch food from your hand, though she can tend to pull a bit on the lead. Maggie has some basic obedience and, as she responds well to food treats, will learn quickly. Maggie also travels well in the car. She is less active than her sister Penny, but still enjoys a good romp and a swim, albeit at the water’s edge. Maggie is looking for a loving family who will include her in their lives. As a gentle and fairly quiet dog, Maggie is good with children, though would probably not be appropriate for toddlers who she may accidentally knock over. Maggie has always lived with her sister Penny, and would benefit from being kept with another dog. Maggie will be sure to make her new family very happy. Rescued: 7 March 2005 Adopted: 11 March 2005

| Eager and Endearing: Paddy Sex: Male Age (approx): 9 months Breed: Terrier x (possibly Border Collie/Wire Haired Terrier) Size: Small to medium Description: Paddy is a gorgeous friendly boy with a great willingness to learn and very keen to please. He learned to sit and drop in no time at all! Being a young dog he would really benefit from continued obedience training to help him become a sociable and well-trained adult dog. There's no question that Paddy would be a real whiz at agility or flyball and he'd just love it! Paddy is playful and good with my own dogs and just loves to be around people too so a home with doggy playmate or a family that will include him in their activities would be ideal. He's good with children, housetrained and well mannered inside. He has shown no interest whatever in chewing or any such destructive behaviour; so all in all Paddy is a great little dog! Rescued: 28 January 2005 Adopted: 5 March 2005
| Perky and adaptable: Becky Sex: Female Age: 5 years Breed: cross breed Size: Medium (9kg) Description: Becky is a unique looking little dog with her 'miniature kelpie' sort of body and pixie face topped by enormous bat ears. She is a delightful and cheerful girl, having an enormous amount of love and affection to give to her special person, and a friendly attraction to people generally. She cant wait to find a person she can devote herself to for the rest of her life. Becky is also friendly and sociable with other dogs. Being a mature dog, Becky is settled and sensible, toilet trained, has apparently received obedience training already and walks nicely on the lead. She is a perky and active girl and will enjoy regular walks, games of fetch and inclusion in general family activities. She doesnt jump up and is very cooperative and adaptable - she will make an ideal pet for a family with small or active children, or for an inexperienced dog owner. | Big Cuddly Sook: Abbey Sex: Female Age (approx): 8 months Breed: Ridgeback X Staffy Size:Medium-large (20 kg) Description: Abbey just loves everyone and everything. She is a very devoted dog, following me around the house, and she gets on fabulously with my big bouncy Labrador and also my cat. Both ridgebacks and staffys are known as good family dogs; in her previous home Abbey lived with children, and was placid enough for them to ride her like a horse. Being still a pup – and a fairly large, strong one at that – she does need some general obedience training, and would be more suited to a family with older children than very young ones. She would also love to be Adopted with a doggy playmate to provide an outlet for her puppy energy. Abbey will need regular exercise and a home where she is allowed inside and involved in everyday family activities. Abbey has so much to offer to a family who want a lovable, affectionate dog and would be prepared to do a little bit of training with her. She has shown herself to be a fast and willing student already, especially when the lessons involve food rewards! Abbey is a beautiful and impressive-looking dog and while she won’t grow any taller (though she will fill out more) she will mature into a calm and gentle dog, and a delightful member of her new family. Rescued: 11 March 2005 Adopted:13 March 2005
| Just gorgeous: Poppy Sex: Female Age: 5 months Breed: Border Collie/Kelpie x Size: Medium Description: A good natured and active puppy who loves being with her people. She gets on well with dogs though will need to be well socialised with them while she is young. She is currently a bit timid around our cat. She has had little training to date but is quick to learn and is food motivated. She travels well in the car and is learning to walk well on a leash. Given her breed and activity levels she will need to go to a home where she will be given lots of exercise, mental stimulation and company. Obedience training is strongly recommended and she is likely to enjoy agility or fly ball (it will be important to channel her energy and intelligence into something constructive). For the right home Poppy will be a very loving and rewarding companion. Rescued: 3 March 2005 Adopted: 14 March 2005

| Loyal companion: Jack Sex:Male Age: approx 3.5 years Breed: Maltese X Size: Small Description: Jack is a cute little fellow who is a looking for someone to love. He is a sweet little man who loves company and likes nothing better than following you around the house and the garden or sitting on your lap in front of the TV. At our house, Jack sleeps in the bedroom (in his own bed) and doesn’t move or make a sound all night. Despite his loving nature, Jack is no wimp. A knock on the door or a strange car pulling up in the driveway will see Jack sound the alarm (thankfully he quietens down again quickly). Jack is also comfortable with bigger dogs (he is currently living with 3 big dogs and holds his own with no trouble). Jack is also cat-friendly, having lived with cats previously. Jack has some basic obedience and will sit on command and walks well on the lead. He also loves a trip in the car and travels well. Jack would be fine as a single dog, or with a doggy friend. His ideal family would be one that could spend as much time with him as possible; having someone at home during the day for company would make Jack a very happy little fellow. Jack would be fine with children over about 5 years of age but wouldn’t appreciate having his tail pulled. Rescued: 7 March 2005 Adopted: 17 March 2005
| Soft and Cuddly: Cedar (now Lucy) Sex: Female Age (approx): 13 weeks (DOB 7 Dec 04) Breed: Dachshund X Cattle Dog Size: Medium From the new home: I thought that I would let you know how Lucy (Cedar) is going. She is absolutely perfect and has Brett and Blair rapped around her little claw!!! Rather sad but she is doing very well. She is starting to explore the backyard more and Brett is working on walking with the lead. They aren't getting very far, she prefers just to sit!!!! She is becoming very affectionate to us all and particularly loves Blair. They run in the backyard chasing balls and the shark and they are both exhausted after it!!We decided to name her Lucy Cedar Jones and she is responding well to her new name. Thanks again for our beautiful little girl Rescued: 17 February 2005 Adopted: 13 March 2005

| Mr Inquisitive: Ricky Sex: Male Age : about 2 years Breed: Jack Russell X Size: Small Description: Ricky was a very frightened little man when he came to his new foster home. But, after only a couple of hours, he settled in very well with his foster family and fellow canines. Ricky is intelligent, inquisitive and affectionate and loves to play with toys. Ricky’s forever home would ideally be one with adults and older children, although he has not been assessed at present with young children. He has socialised well with three small dogs of similar size and a visiting Labrador and so far has not shown signs of aggression or barking. Ricky would enjoy a family who are looking for a gentle, yet energetic little man as an extension of their family. He would love the company of another dog for play times. He is happy living indoors and appears to be house-trained. Rescued: 12 March 2005 Adopted: 19 March 2005

She is not an active dog and doesn't play ball or chase frizbees but loves having hugs, cuddles and quiet times. She is not barky, comes when called and is housetrained.A few shorter walks a week would suit her rather than long ones every day. Minnie is an absolute joyto have around the house and has one of those faces that even if she did anything wrongonelook at her cute little face and you just melt. Minnie needs to have a well fenced back yard as she is very small. She also needs to have someone home most of the day or another dog to be with. Rescued: 19 February 2005 Adopted: 26 March 2005

| Sweet & Sensible: Penny Sex: Female Age: (approx): 3.5 years Breed: Golden Retriever Size: Medium Description: What a beautiful girl, with her big brown eyes full of intelligence and loyalty! Penny is a friendly and gentle girl. It appears that Penny has had some obedience training in the past and is picking it up again very quickly, with some training each day and her willing nature she will come along in leaps and bounds. Penny is good with cats and is learning not to pay any attention to the chooks and ducks at her foster carer’s place. House trained Penny also travels extremely well in the car. Penny loves playing ball, walking and swimming and is great with other dogs. Penny would benefit from her new family continuing her obedience training, ensuring she exercises every day and letting her have a doggie pal. Rescued: 6 March 2005 Adopted: 22 March 2005
| Affectionate: Murray Breed: Foxie/cross Age: Approx 5-6 years old Size: Small Description: Murray is an adorable boy and such a cuddler just wanting to be part of the family. He has had a rough time of late as he was with a family who had kids and they were a bit too much for him so he was surrendered to the pound. He then came in to my care and this is where his next journey through life starts, to find him the perfect home where he will be treated with the love and kindness that he deserves. Murray is totally house trained and responds to basic commands, as his sole aim is to please. He is good on a lead and would enjoy a walk once a day to keep his stamina up and to have a look around the neighbourhood. He would be best suited to a family without children as he is 6 years old, and would love the companionship of a semi retired or retired person/s as he just loves people. A doggie friend is a bonus but not necessary as long as he was not left on his own for long periods of time. He is a special boy. Rescued: 28 February 2005 Adopted: 14 March 2005

| Your very own Teddy Bear: Bessie Sex: Female Age (approx): 2 yrs Breed (approx): Retriever x Size: Large (20k) Description: Bessie is a happy, affectionate and playful girl. She is extremely devoted, following me everywhere she can and she likes to give and receive plenty of cuddles. She gets on well with my Labrador and doesn't seem to mind my cat either. True to her breeding Bessie is a moderately active dog, but is always gentle, rather than over-bearing. She would make a wonderful addition to any family including one with young children. Bessie has a beautiful soft medium to longhaired coat, which will need an occasional brush. She would be happiest involved in her family's everyday activities, including being allowed in the house when they are inside. She presently takes great pleasure from sleeping on the couch! Bessie has some training; she will sit, come when called and roll over (with a little push in the right direction!) She is a pleasure to walk as she doesnt pull on the leash and will walk very calmly by your side. Beautiful Bessie will make the perfect family dog, with her almost teddy bear features and young playful but gentle personality she cant wait to belong to her very own family. | Affectionate and outgoing: Jemima Sex: Female Age: 1 year Breed: Border Collie x Spaniel Size: Medium Description: A sweet-natured submissive girl, Jemima is a gentle, devoted dog with a lot of love to give. She is active and playful and loves her tennis ball as well as playing soccer, catching the spray from the hose, and wrestling games with other dogs. After a game she is happy to settle down for some serious cuddling as she is very affectionate and adoring and she loves to be loved. Jemima likes everybody and she likes to be wherever her people are. She's a happy, sociable dog with a perpetually wagging tail. She is house-trained, quiet and well behaved in the home and she travels well in the car. Jemima hadn't had any training prior to being rescued, but she is such a smart and willing girl that she is learning basic commands quickly and easily, and is generally an obedient dog. She loves her walks and is easily managed on-lead or off-lead, coming straight back to me whenever I call her. Jemima would be happiest Adopted with a doggy playmate or plenty of human company and she will need regular exercise. She enjoys the company of children and is content to just unobtrusively hang around my three and four year olds while they play in the sandpit etc. Jemima is a lovely dog who is maturing quickly into an even lovelier dog, and she will make a great family pet. A clever little man who is mastering his sits and will even give you his paw to shake hands. Dizzy loves nothing better to be given lots of cuddles and a warm lap to curl up on. | Laid-back bloke:Rastus Sex: Male Age: approx 3 years Breed: Crossbreed Size: Medium (9kg) Description: This happy, good-natured boy is friendly and self-assured. A sociable dog, Rastus enjoys the company of people and dogs, walks on lead and just hanging around his family. He likes nothing better than pottering around in the garden with my partner and our 2 little kids, aged 3 and 4. He's gentle with children, he doesn't jump up, and he interacts well with all sorts of dogs. Rastus loves active doggy play but he also behaves appropriately with my little timid dog and my big old grumpy one. He is very easy to have indoors, as he is a laid-back, relaxed sort of dog, house trained, with nice manners. He knows how to stay out of the way and enjoys lying around for hours at a time. He's a unique looking dog - much like a Scottish terrier but with long legs. Rastus likes being active and will need regular but not necessarily intense exercise, though if you like taking long walks or jogging, Rastus will easily go the distance - he is versatile. He is not an emotionally needy or 'high maintenance' sort of dog. He doesn't fret when his people are out and he isn't demanding when they're home - though he never knocks back a cuddle and he loves lying back in my arms like a big baby. He's generally quiet though he will bark a little at strangers on your property. Rastus is a lovely boy and will make a great family pet. Rescued: 15 February 2005 Adopted: 25 March 2005

| Smart and Devoted: Lucy Sex: Female Age (approx): 3 years Breed: Staffy X Kelpie Size: Medium Description: Best of both worlds! Staffy good humour and Kelpie enthusiasm. Lucy is an absolute delight with an infectious zest for life! She is soft natured, friendly and lovable and loves the company of her family and doggy friends. Lucy is currently training at advanced level at obedience class and loving it as she is an active dog both physically and mentally and revels in strutting her stuff. Her Kelpie heritage means that she loves to feel useful, be it supervising her family's daily activities, playing with her doggy pals or carrying out her obedience tasks. She is fully house trained and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. Lucy would be bored and lonely on her own all day, so would be happiest in a home where she is exercised regularly and has human or doggy company. If you're after an obliging buddy, a clever and capable companion, Lucy is the perfect dog for you. Rescued: 15 March 2004 Adopted: 25 March 2005
| Chocolate and Cream: Ruby Sex: Female Age: about 10 months Breed: Border Collie Size: Medium Description: Ruby is a stunning young dog who is an uncommon colour variety of her breed. In every other way she is a typical border collie, being versatile, handsome, curious, trusting and highly intelligent. She's still got a lot of puppy energy, but is mostly beyond the silliest behaviours of puppyhood. She's a submissive and very friendly dog, and loves playing wrestling games with other dogs. Ruby is also active and very smart and would benefit from (and shine at) obedience training. Due to Ruby's high energy levels and intelligence we would like to see her Adopted where she will receive plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A doggy playmate would help use up some of Ruby's excess energy - though as she matures she will naturally become more calm and laid-back. As you can see, she's an absolutely beautiful looking dog, a real head-turner, and we can report she has an equally lovely temperament. Ruby is a real gem of a dog! | Fun Loving: Bubba (now Harry) Sex: Male Age: (approx) 12 months Breed: Retriever X Size: Medium Description: Here is an e-mail from his new family: We are very glad to formally adopt Bubba. He has adjusted very well, and is a great companion and a lovely addition to our family! So far he has also been pretty well behaved with the rabbits - apart from chasing one, apparently in play, who unfortunately hasn't returned. We will persist with his training; he is fairly responsive, though gets excited and distracted (don't we all sometimes??) and needs frequent reminders to go onto his mat. But generally he is a great pleasure and fun to have around. We now call him Harry, which suits him and to which he responds well. Rescued: 20 March 2005 Adopted: 1 April 2005
| Cuddly Puppy: Finnigan Sex: Male Age: approx 8 months Breed: Wolfhound x Dane x something smaller Size: Large Description: A big sweet-natured boy, Finnigan just wants to be friends with everyone. Typical of a dog his age, he is gangly and playful, curious and enthusiastic. He also has a soft and smoochy side, being very happy to flop at my feet and sleep for a while, or sit with his head in my lap staring up at me adoringly. He shows every indication of maturing into a languid and calm dog who will have just moderate exercise needs, and already he is a well-behaved and generally sensible pup. Finnigan is a very social dog, enjoying the company of other dogs. He also loves people, especially children, and has shown himself to be devoted and responsive and keen to do what is required of him. He will not be a difficult dog to train, and given his size, obedience classes are strongly advised. Finnigan is not as huge as his breeding might suggest, being about 65 cm tall at the shoulder. He is unlikely to grow much taller, though he will fill out somewhat. Finn is an ideal age for adoption, being already house trained, knowing some basic obedience commands, and still having the lovely pliable nature of a puppy. He is basically a good-natured, gentle and manageable dog. With his unusual blonde/brindle colouring and his tall athletic frame he is also a very striking looking boy who gets compliments wherever he goes. Cuddly Finn is a real catch who will make a wonderful family addition. Rescued: 30 March 2005 Adopted: 2 April 2005

| A Real Princess: Pixie Sex: Female Age: (approx) 3 years Breed: Maltese Size: Small Description: Pixie is a very affectionate, intelligent and outgoing 3-year-old white Maltese who enjoys lots of hugs, being groomed and outdoor café living! She's great with people but young children would be a little too much because of her tiny size. However, she'd make a great companion for a houseful of adults! While it would be preferable for her to have another small to medium sized dog for companionship, she may work well with an owner who does not work or only works part time. Pixie is an enthusiastic daily walker who likes lazing in the morning and afternoon sun and sleeping inside, to keep warm during the cold winter nights. Rescued: 1 April 2005 Adopted: 13 April 2005
| Staffy Snuggler: Bella Sex: Female Age (approx): 3 years Breed: Staffy X Size:Medium/small Description: Bella is a gorgeous small staffy with a lovely soft temperament. Friendly to the humans and dogs she meets, she fits in easily around the home and is always close by. Bella lacks a bit of confidence at the moment and looks to find it in the human attention she loves. Lots of loving cuddles and a warm lap needed for this girl! Bella is adorable and is looking for a very loving home that will allow her inside (appears housetrained and can use the doggy door), who will take her for lovely walks (good on lead) and let her be a part of your life. Her ideal home would also have a doggy companion for her to rely on and buddy up with. Such a huggable sweetie! Rescued: 1 April 2005 Adopted: 8 April 2005

| Soft and Loyal: Max (now Tongo) Sex: Male Age (approx): 12 months old Breed: Kelpie X Size: Medium-Large Notes from Tongo's new home: "As it is nearing the end of week 3, I thought I should give you an update on how Tongo is doing. We signed him up for obedience classes, but unfortunately we couldn't get in until June. He is doing really well though. He seems to be doing fine on his own in the day and has been enjoying the sand pit we built for him. He seems to spend lots of time hunting for the little lizards in the garden--endless entertainment. I had a bit of a panic the other day when his lead somehow unsnapped while I was taking him for a walk on the Mt. Ainslie Nature Reserve and he bolted off after some kangaroos. I don't know how it happened--he was jumping around at the sight of the roo and got tangled around a bush when the lead unclipped. So I tried running after them but they disappeared quickly. Fortunately after 5 to 10 minutes of calling his name and walking round in circles Tongo came running for me at full tilt and was very happy to see me. So the good part about that whole story is that he came back and that he wanted to come back. I think that is significant and hopefully means that he is happy with us. Nonetheless, I am taking every precaution to make sure that it doesn't happen again!! We have been impressed at how well behaved he is though. He doesn't beg for food at the table and hasn't made any messes in the house. He did chew a sprinkler attachment in the yard, but that's our fault for leaving it out. Somewhat surprisingly he hasn't taken to chewing the water dripper system. We are still working on developing his interest in chew toys and such. I was thinking of trying to soak one in some chicken broth and then give it to him to see if that works. His only real weakness is that he is a begger for attention and wants to be pet all the time, but that's just fine. He is really sweet. So we are definitely planning on keeping him and we thank you for taking such good care of him." Rescued: 2 March 2005 Adopted: 8 April 2005

| Quiet and affectionate: Charlie Sex: Male Age (approx): 5 yrs Breed (approx): Cattle dog x Fox Terrier Size: Small/medium Description: Charlie is a lovely soft-natured dog who wants nothing more than to be loved and cared for by his new family. He loves cuddles and especially enjoys his walks, and has just moderate exercise requirements. He gets on well with my other dogs and my cat, although prefers to spend more time with humans having cuddles on the couch. He is quite shy at first and a little bit timid although it doesn't take more than a few days for him to relax, trust and become more confident. Charlie is house trained and very well behaved, being well past any 'puppy behavioural' problems. Charlie would be best suited as an only dog or companion to another quiet natured dog, and would be ideal for a first time dog owner or older family. Charlie has been through so much and now is ready to settle down with a nice family who can love and protect him for the rest of his life. Rescued: 28 March 2005 Adopted: 9 April 2005

| Playful and Intelligent: Dusty Sex: Male Age: (approx) 8 months Breed: Kelpie Size: Medium/large Description: Dusty is a handsome, friendly and clever dog, and in beautiful condition. He is a curious puppy and enjoys exploring the garden looking for new things to play with, bringing me little gifts of things I thought I'd lost years ago! Dusty is well socialised and plays well with my older Labrador. He would make an excellent companion for another playful dog who needs to be worn out each day! Being an intelligent dog and having such a keen desire to learn and to please, Dusty will be a star at obedience lessons. Indeed, it is important that Dusty is given training or some other mental and physical stimulation (such as a doggy playmate), as he would be unhappy left alone in a back yard for long periods. Dusty would be suitable pet for an active family with children, as even though he's big and bouncy he also has a very gentle nature. He likes my cat and is learning that he can’t play with it like he would a cuddly toy - he’s basically a nice natured pup who just needs some guidance. Dusty attended Puppy School and learns quickly with reward-based training methods. He understands and responds to a variety of commands already (such as sit, lie down, come) though being a puppy, is easily distracted. For the person who can give Dusty the mental stimulation and exercise he needs in the remainder of his formative puppy period, as well as lots of love, this boy will grow into an outstanding and well-behaved pet. Not to mention handsome. Rescued: 23 March 2005 Adopted: 15 April 2005
