ARF Dogs available for adoptionARF dogs are in temporary foster care and seeking suitable permanent loving homes. ARF dogs are microchipped, desexed, C5 vaccinated, wormed and health-checked. To help cover these costs, ARF asks for an adoption fee contribution of $300 (incl GST) per dog (or $150 (incl GST) for dogs over 8 years old) plus any donations people may wish to make.  | Gentle Molly Sex: Female Age: approx 12 months Breed: Crossbreed Size: Medium Description Molly is a sweet, gentle and affectionate young dog, very sensible and settled for such a youngster. Although she has only been with her foster family a short time she has quickly made herself at home. Molly appears to have had some training before coming in to foster care, sitting for her dinner and walking nicely on lead from the start. She also sleeps quietly all night in her crate. Molly enjoys the company of the two dogs in her foster family and is very friendly and affectionate with people. Molly's coat is short and easy care, very soft to the touch and beautifully shiny. She would be a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys regular walks or runs. Molly would love to be part of a family where she was included in family activities and where she could spend time inside with her family when they were at home. As she feels the cold these chilly winter nights Molly would need to sleep inside. More information and photos will be added as we get to know Molly better.    | Bright as a button: Joey Sex: Male Age: Approximately 3 months Breed: Kelpie Size: Medium when mature Description: Joey came to us as the runt of a litter of 5 puppies dumped at the pound. All legs, ears and eyes; he looked so much like a baby kangaroo we had to name him Joey. Like any puppy this sweet little man loves to play, run and sleep. He is especially cuddly after a full day playing and loves a warm lap in front of the TV towards his bedtime. Joey is devoted to his puppy foster sister Bella and our two house dogs and I cannot imagine him in a single dog home, so the companionship of another puppy or active young dog would be essential for Joey to be happy. As a grown Kelpie, Joey will become a very active medium sized dog. He has already proven he is quite intelligent, learning sit and come already in his first couple of weeks, so he could be trained quite easily and would excel in obedience training, agility or flyball. He would be well suited to an owner or family willing to commit to puppy training and socialisation, able to ensure his quick mind is occupied and that he has the companionship of another dog when left alone during the day. Like most Kelpies, handsome Joey is quite lean and has a fine short coat that only requires a quick brush once a week to keep it in prime condition. He will, however, need to be housed indoors overnight and wear a warm coat during Canberra’s cold Winters. Expressions of interest are welcome at any time but he will not be ready from re-homing until at least mid-May. | Perfect Mix: Kai Sex: Male Age: Approximately 9 months Breed: Cattle dog x Size: Medium when mature Description: Kai is a fun loving pup with plenty of energy and full of get up and go. However once he gets to know you, you will discover he has a much softer side. Kai loves cuddles, pats and nothing more then snuggling up against you. This makes him the perfect mix of fun and love. Kai already has some basic manners and is a very quick learner. He knows “sit”, comes when called and is very easy to manage on a lead. He is currently being crate trained and sleeps quietly at night with no fuss. The best home for Kai would be one that has another dog for company as he gets sad when left on his own.   | Lively Sweetheart: Elise Sex: Females Age: Approximately 7 months Breed: Kelpie Size: Medium when mature Description: Elise is a small sweet natured and out going girl who is full of life. Elise is very typical of the kelpie breed, she is very focused and eagerly wants to please which makes training a real pleasure. Elise has basic obedience training already with knowing how to sit, drop, wait for her food and she walks well on a loose lead and travels well in the car. Elise has been well socialised with other dogs and although she likes to play chase, she could easily adapt to be an only dog as long as she was made part of the family. Elise loves a good cuddle from her foster mum and although she can be a little shy to strangers to start with she soon warms up. Elise would suit an active person/s or family with kids over the age of 12 that is looking for a fun loving dog they can do agility, flyball, herding or just going for a run or bike ride with. | Beautiful Bobby About 9 months Bobby is a very cute youngster who is full of love and life. He is such a happy guy who just wants to have as much fun as life can possibly offer. When he’s not playing with his humans he’s busy playing with his foster sister, Zoe. He's got a very special spark to him, a hint of mischief, a whole lot of love and an incredible zest for life. He loves to be inside with his humans but is also quite happy to be outside playing. As long as he's got a friend (human or animal, or even toy), he's just happy to be wherever he is. Bobby’s had a bit of a rough start and has needed some time to learn about humans, to fatten up and learn some good manners. He's been making amazing progress so far and now looks to humans for guidance and for the love he richly deserves. He would benefit from a family that wants a very playful and energetic, yet also loving and smoochy dog. A family that is willing to put in a bit of time to keep reinforcing good behaviour.
